Melissa Sue Anderson was born in the 1960s. She played the role of Mary Ingalls on the NBC television series Little House on the Prairie, which aired in the 1970s and early 1980s. Melissa won an Emmy Award for her performance in Which Mother Is Mine? in 1979 which was an episode from the "ABC Afterschool Special" series. In 2006 she was in the television mini-series 10.5: Apocalypse, that premiered on network television. She was nominated for a 1978 Primetime Emmy Award for Best Leading Actress in a Drama Series for her work on the Little House on the Prairie. She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 1998, she was inducted into the Western Performers Hall of Fame at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and has been living with her husband, producer and writer Michael Sloan. Michael and Melissa have two children - a daughter Piper (born February 1991) and a son Griffin (born June 1996). They have made their home in Canada since 2002.
