This is a guide to many of the different characters, and places from Focus on the Family's Family Portraits, Odyssey U.S.A. and The Adventures in Odyssey Radio Series. Right now, I am currently asking for everyone to submit any information that I could use for the site. I am looking for anything related to Odyssey from A-Z.

THE HISTORY OF ODYSSEY: IN BASIC TERMS

The Adventures in Odyssey radio series first began with Focus on the Family first radio drama program called "Family Portraits" it was 13 week test drama series, that was aired on the daily Focus on the Family broadcast with Dr. James Dobson. This was a spin-off from the Adventures in Odyssey Series.  It introduced a very friendly elderly man named John Avery Whittaker. (Who is better known as Whit, to most of his close friends) In the coarse of the series, we learn about Whit's family and we also here about Whit's End, (Mr. Whittaker's hands on museum, acting Theatre (The Little Theatre), and a whole lot of other things too!
Focus on the Family began airing the series in early November of 1987 and ended out with "Adventures in Odyssey".  "Family Portraits" stopped airing at the closing year of 1987. The series changed to "Odyssey U.S.A." then later in 1988 Focus on the Family changed the show again to "Adventures in Odyssey". We now know this as the series today. On July 13, 2002  "Adventures in Odyssey" celebrated the airing of the 500^th Episode of Adventures in Odyssey! Congratulations to the Odyssey Team for over 14 years of service to the Lord with the Odyssey Radio Drama Series! God Bless you All as you serve him in the future. Fans around the US wait to see what's in store for Odyssey in the near future! Next year in 2007 Focus on the Family will celebrate the 20th anniversary of "Adventures in Odyssey", how exciting ! We at VideosForFamily.com praise the Lord for what Focus on the Family has been able to do over the past now, almost 20 years with AIO.

The AIO HQ Web Site- Here you can find a "wonderfully" made web site made by now AIO writer Nathan Hubbler and he has compiled many, many Odyssey areas of history of fun! Vote for an episode of AIO, look at Nathan's episode guide, while you surf site too, it's very well done and professional I may add too!

The Town Of Odyssey Message Board - Check out and get in with the talk of the town in the widely well know top, most visited message board on the Internet, devoted to "Adventures in Odyssey"!  Scores upon scores of people post here and it's so wonderful to know there are so many fans out there that love the show!

The Soda Fountain - This is Shadowpaw's Web Site on AIO ! Named, "The Soda Fountain" this web site is one of the most popular web sites, on the internet right now. It's amazing and even has an interview with David Griffin who plays the young man known as, Jimmy on "ADVENTURES IN ODYSSEY" in many of the older episodes. Check it out today!

The Family Portraits Web Site- Find information on the Family Portraits Tapes and some other interesting information on the series! Family Portraits was the fore runner to "Adventures in Odyssey" and a test dama series, check out this site for more detailed information! Plus, see what you can do to get the series re-released again!!
