We
had a wonderful weekend on at the LAND OF OZ
PARK in Banner Elk, NC on Oct 1
again this year! I went up and promoted the re-release of the "WIZARD OF OZ"
movie coming on Oct 25th. I had a great setup. Things went very well and we met
many, many fans and then made over $50 in profit! I had the chance to spend some
time with Sean Barrett one of cast members that works there along with a few of
his friends. They are always fun to hang around with!
I have been asked to write up a little report that will be in the winter
issue of the BAUM BUGLE (Coming during the winter months of 2006) -The official
club magazine of the "Baum Bugle"- There was a good amount of people there
during that weekend and not even 10 minutes would go by throughout the day when
there would be people already coming up to our booth and getting info and asking
questions about the new re-release of "THE WIZARD OF OZ".
Another thing happened that was cool was that I had a personal copy of the Tuner
release of the WIZARD OF OZ Pop-Up Book. Throughout the day at least 15 or 18
people came by and were very interested in getting that from me. I told people
that it was my personal copy and it was not for sale. They all had said they had
never even seen that and were wondering, when this came out, etc! So then
finally by mid afternoon a guy came up with his Mother and he was looking at
that pop-up book! I decided that if he had really wanted it I was going to just
sell it. I asked him a few questions about his devotion to the movie and Oz. He
told me he loved the movie
ever since he was really little. Then I asked him the
last question-- which was so how old are you! His reply-- I'm 23! That shocked
me; it was cool yet amazing...because I am 23! I said hey, I'll sell it to you for $15 and we did just that. It was a great time yet very fun and enjoyable. At
the end of the day, Melissa (one of the cast members) told me that I would make
a great Scarecrow, I told her and the guys there, when we were visiting at the
end of the day-- "I think Sean's the best Scarecrow and there's only one of them
and that's Sean". They went on to say they needed another one and thought I would
be good for that. I was surprised and honored to hear that! We'll see what happens next year, but I will always remember what fun and exciting time I had
there to promote the re-release of the movie! You can also be personally

Sean
has been working as the "Scarecrow" for the Wizard of Oz Park/Festival in Banner
Elk, NC for 5 years now! He really has the 'look' for the part and is very
dedicated to his work. He is a good friend of mine and I am pleased to have him
a part of VideosForFamily.com Thank you Sean for your time and answering
these questions about a park we all love and cherish every year in October! Sean
comments about how he got interested in "The Wizard of Oz" and about his work at
Banner Elk ! He also shares with us what he is doing now and his plans for the
future. Sean is only 19 but has used his acting abilities in a way like no
