As we are winding down and closing out the radio show, we join Aaron Pacentine alongside Celia Foster yet again for another exciting episode of "RETURNING TO OZ". This time we we answer a question from one of the Oz fans who wrote in and was wondering about the story behind Dorothy's electric shock treatment. In this episode learn about Dorothy's electric shock treatments and learn the history and origin on how the machine used in the film, "RETURN TO OZ" was actually a real machine used many, many years ago in the 1900s around the time period when the film was actually set! We have taken bit of a break in the series, but are back again with an exiting brand new show for 2008. Celia Foster joins Aaron Pacentine with a lot of exiting and educational information about researching topics about "OZ" and we find out that the Library of Congress hold many, many different movie and memorabilia items pertaining to "RETURN TO OZ"! It is amazing what you find when you do a little research on the Internet and using different search engines. Celia also explains some very interesting information about the actor, Justin Case who plays the scarecrow. The opening theme music is from, "THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF DISNEY" (late 1980s) and the end theme music you hear is from the Disney Company's opening intro that can be heard in many of their new films today.

We talk alot in this episode about the transition of Oz in regards to the books. There have been a number of different props released from "RETURN TO OZ". Once again Aaron Schultz of WaltDisneysReturntoOz.com joins us with Dex Fabi who hasn't been with us in a while...but we are pleased to have him back on with us again today. We also bring up the suggestion to many of the fans to contact the Criterion Collection which releases many older cult films. We hope that soon at some point this company can add "RETURN TO OZ" to their DVD release so we as the fans and others can have this movie restored much like the 1939 MGM, musical movie was restored in October of 2005. Interview With High School Teacher, Andrew Cotton of Georgia

In this episode we feature a new mini series...within the "RETURNING TO OZ" radio show about the scoring of "RETURN TO OZ". We have gotten in contact with a high school music teacher who teaches music in the public high school in a local school in Savannah, Georgia. For the2006-2007 school year, Andrew taught music in a high school in Savannah, Georgia, where he shared lessons on “Return to Oz” with 9th-12th grade students. Studying the thematic aspects of the film’s score gave students a deeper insight into the strong compositional elements present for “Return to Oz,” most notably to use of character leitmotifs and use of specific instrumentation to tell the story. Using his lectures and lessons he taught his class he now brings the lessons and much more to the world of audio through this radio show! Every so often Andrew will be on the show explaining and giving out info about the musical scoring of the movie for the fans, and many educators that wish to know more about this wonderful and amazing film, RETURN TO OZ that was produced by Disney in 1985.

Life has been busy as the summer finally begins to unfold to us all, even here with us involved in the radio show! So we are sorry for the delay. To make it up...we have prepared the hidden (lost episode) of Travis Black's first appearance on the radio show. As well as info directly from Aaron Schultz about the whereabouts of Emma...the young girl who played the part of Ozma on "RETURN TO OZ". Later in the episode, Jared Davis of the online web site Dorothy & Ozma Productions is interviewed and also "RETURN TO OZ" fan Derrick Davis from southern CA is interviewed as well about his perspective on the Oz film, the David Shire score, and some interesting facts about himself in a conversation/interview with Aaron Pacentine. Toward the end of the episode Travis talks about his time a few years ago visiting Washington D.C.'s Smithsonian National History Museum, and viewing the ruby slippers from the MGM film. Due to the interviews running longer...then excepted this episode is extra long :) So we hope you enjoy it !
