An Interview With
Susan & Anne
(December 1999)

By Aaron Pacentine, of VideosForFamily.com

1. How did you get interested in the "Little House TV Series"?

Actually, we just started watching the show and happened to like it. It
became one of our favorite shows as we were growing up.

2. Have you read all of Laura Ingalls Wilder's "Little House" Series of books?

No, we haven't. We have heard that they're very interesting books though.

3. What are your favorite Little House (TV) Episodes?

It's kind of difficult choosing just one favorite show each, since we like so
many of them. A few that come to mind would be "The Richest Man in Walnut
Grove", "As Long As We're Together", "The Odyssey" and "Men Will Be Boys".

4. I know you have a really neat Little House Web Site, on the Internet,
what can viewers to your site, find there?

Well, it's a pretty small site. Some of the things we have now are a trivia
game, Little House web polls and a weather page where people can see the
current daily forecast for Walnut Grove, Minnesota. We also have set up a
Laura Ingalls Wilder Tour for an online friend of ours, Jeff. He and his
family went on a trip this past September to Laura Ingalls Wilder sites in
Pepin, Wisconsin and Mansfield, Missouri. He shared a lot of the great
pictures they took as well as memories from their trip.

5. Do you have any plans to add new things in the coming future, weeks and months?

We are going to be soon working on a new trivia game. We had fun working on creating our first
trivia game, so hopefully the same will go for this one.
We do have ideas for a few other things but haven't made definite plans yet.

6. Have you seen all the Little House Episodes, and (2 Hour Movie Specials) yet?

We believe that we saw most, if not all, of the shows and movie specials but
since it has been so long since they first aired and we were both very young
at the time, we can't say for certain that we saw every show.

7. Does the rest of your family, enjoy the Little House TV Series too?

When the series first aired *ON NBC*, we remember our family all watching together
each week. It was one of our favorite shows at the time. As we got older and the series ended,
we watched Michael Landon's other tv shows, Father Murphy and Highway to Heaven.
We've always been big Michael Landon fans and continue to be.
Several years ago we discovered reruns of the Little House shows on a local station and
watched daily. It was great seeing the shows  again and since we were so young when they
first aired, it was almost like seeing new episodes for the first time.
The shows stopped airing, however, and we don't subscribe to cable tv, so unfortunately
we're not able to see the shows currently on TBS.

8. If you could name a "Little House Special or Movie Special" what would you name it (starting with "Little House: " ?

If you mean a new movie or special, how about these, "Little House: The Plum Creek Years".
It would be a montage of clips from different episodes and a grown
Laura, played by Melissa Gilbert,  telling her daughter Rose about  memories
from when she was a child. Or, another could be "Little House:
Albert Ingalls, Country Doctor". In this one, Albert returns from medical
school but isn't quite prepared for all that the job of being a country
doctor entails. He writes to the now retired Doc Baker about his troubles
and Doc Baker decides to make an impromptu visit back to Walnut Grove.
During his visit he shares with Albert some of his most memorable cases as
well as some of the difficulties he endured in his own career and also the
rewarding times of being a country doctor.

9. What kind of "Episodes" from Little House, do you like the best?

We liked both the humorous episodes and the dramatic ones. Some of our
favorites are from the earlier seasons of the show. But we'd have to say
that some of the best episodes that stand out in our minds are the ones
written by Michael Landon, he was so talented at writing as well as acting
and directing. There were also a few good ones directed by Victor French who
played the character of Mr. Edwards on the show. We didn't realize when
Little House first aired that Victor French worked both in front of the
cameras acting and behind directing for some of the episodes. So he was also
multi-talented.

-Comment From Aaron-
Yes, I think so, too! He was a wonderful actor, even after the last film "Little House: The Last Farewell" in 1984, I am sure deep in his heart he didn't want to stop the filming of the show... but all good things must come to an end.

10. What kind of things will viewers to your site, see next year?

We hadn't thought that far in advance yet, but we do know that we would like to have some
type of photo gallery featuring the characters from the Little
House TV Series and some more fun things, maybe puzzles, like a word search
or something of that nature.

We'd like to thank Aaron for asking us to do this interview with him!
